Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if we are a good fit?

Realizing that the therapeutic process is primarily a relational process, finding a counselor or coach that you gel with is important. Consequently, we are willing to talk by phone to discuss your goals for counseling and answer any questions about how we see the therapeutic process.

Is therapy confidential?

In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and psychotherapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.

However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. The therapist is required to notify the police.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.

How often will I need to come?

Many people choose to start by meeting weekly or bi-weekly. This will be something to discuss with your therapist to meet both your mental health and economic needs.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we do call 602.610.8250 to see if your insurance is one that we currently take. Regularly a new one is added to our list of insurances we can work with.
